A Little Celebration

Miss Tay's great-grandmother (who lives in Louisiana) sent her some money to celebrate her perfect TAKS score. She was originally thinking flowers but Miss Thang had a bit different idea. If you've been reading this blog very long, you know that she absolutely loves Build-A-Bear so guess where we ended up last Sunday?

Yep, we brought home a new furry friend. This time she opted for the koala and gave him a rather scholarly (that's the exact word she used) look with an argyle sweater and black slacks. She gave him a little edge, though, with some canvas high tops...why, you might ask? Because she has shoes like that, too, and wanted them to have something in common. Her words, not mine...

His name is Chad. I originally thought she was naming him after the Alltel guy; however, I was informed that this is Professor Chad. We were almost done with lunch (we had to go DIRECTLY to Build-A-Bear after church so lunch at Red Lobster was my reward for living through the creation of another animal) when it occurred to me that she must have dressed him that way because we were celebrating an academic milestone.

Right?

Wrong.

Apparently, Taylor has "just always wanted to dress one up that way." Of course...what was I thinking?

Thank goodness we brought Chad home when we did because, you see, we have a Webkinz koala named Koko and it appears they are long lost brothers. Whew - at least family's back together again!

And thank you, Maw Maw, for making this trip possible.

P.S. You probably noticed I didn't mention anything about the NIT championship game...

I can't yet talk about it without my blood pressure skyrocketing so I shall refrain for the time being. In short, my opinion is that the refs determined the outcome of the game and there was absolutely no equity in their officiating. When the ESPN commentators are protesting on Baylor's behalf, you know there's a problem.

Our seniors, who have rebuilt this program on their backs, deserved better...
