Sweet Summer Saturday

We usually try to avoid tourist-y attractions on weekends when we're on vacation but this year it kind of couldn't be avoided the way things worked out. That being said, we truly didn't experience much of a crowd at all in Galveston (probably due to the massive seaweed explosion) so it really wasn't an issue this time. :)

After a very lazy morning, we headed to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Always a must-do and always super fun.

Tiny loooooved all of the animals and water. In fact, our server was shocked that she was so good and didn't cry. Apparently that doesn't happen often. Clearly she's a prodigy. Ha!

Unfortunately, Tonto did not enjoy the mattress at the hotel the night before and was having some relatively major back issues. Which explains why he and Tiny, who was taking a nap, hung out at the picnic table while the girls and I played mini golf.

Taylor cracks me up when we play because she is super serious or super not. And it changes from hole to hole - you just never know what you're gonna get.

I'm not sure why I find this pic so funny but it makes me laugh every single time.

And here's the one when she actually looked.

Hallie, on the other hand, was intent on kicking our behinds on this particular day. And, well, she most certainly did.

After our 18 holes, we went up the road and tried our hand at go carts. Taylor gets nervous about driving period so she was really cautious. And her greatest fear is being spun around, stuck or causing a wreck. So the look on her face when Hallie spun her around and both of them got stuck - because Taylor was taking the turn too cautiously - was priceless.

I, on the other hand, grew up on a go cart track (southern Louisiana has its perks, y'all) and I totally lapped everyone. At least once. Pretty sure Tonto has never been more proud. Seriously.

After wrapping up some souvenir shopping at Wings (also a must), we headed over to Seabrook for the night. Our plan was to hit Kemah the next day (we tried to go ahead and do it that night but, hello, major crowd) so we had dinner at Mario's Flying Pizza. Y'all. It's sooooo good. We happened upon it last year and were intent on trying it again.

After dinner, we headed over to Pelican Path (different pelican statues are spread throughout Seabrook and it's a super fun element) and I remembered how much I love this shirt. :)

The pelicans are really bright and shiney, which is right up Tiny's alley.

The girls also found them to be great places to pose.

At the end of the path, there was a nice fountain. Not only did Tiny love it but - you guessed it - it totally put her to sleep. Again. Clearly we need to give up the radio in her room and invest in an ocean sound machine instead.

Once back at the hotel, we just lounged and were lazy. Tonto, Tiny and I watched Fast and Furious while the girls went to the pool for a while. The baby did NOT sleep well that night and it was rough for everyone. But Kemah was up before we headed home... :)
