Last Monday we headed out on a long-awaited adventure - it was time for some R&R at the beach. I honestly don't know that I've ever anticipated a vacation more as it's been a really stressful (yet amazing) six months. Some time away was definitely in order.
And, little known fact, but I had yet to have Tiny to myself for an entire week. I've taken off days here and there to make sure she got to all of her appointments, follow-ups, was sick, etc. but it was the first uninterrupted week. :)
Last year we tried to stop at Bucee's in Waller but it wasn't open yet. So we completed that circle on the way down and treated ourselves to some fudge. Red velvet is my personal fav but the girls had an affinity for birthday cake. And we had to get a pic with the giant beaver. It just felt right.
Soon we arrived in Surfside Beach (home to very little seaweed as compared to the majority of the Texas Gulf Coast) and were greeted by both my parents and this super sweet view. Hello, gorgeous!
The first order of business was introducing Tiny to the sand, salt water and waves. All of which most children hate. But not Tiny. Not in the least, y'all!
As you can see, the sand was not a problem AT ALL. She loved the salt water so much that she kept licking her lips and fingers AND the waves put her to sleep every single time she went down to the beach. :)
After playing in the surf for a few hours, we headed back to the beautiful beach house and ordered pizza for dinner. Because who wants to waste time during their first day shopping for groceries? That's definitely a second day of vacay issue. :)
