Last Monday, August 22, was a momentous occasion on our house. It was someone's very first birthday and he got a special present - Eddy the dog - whose head he promptly tried to rip off...
Though someone is only allowed to play with Eddy in limited doses now, he did have a great birthday that even included table scraps. Shhhh....
He is, in fact, the biggest beggar ever to grace the earth, in my opinion. He wakes from a deep sleep if he so much as thinks someone is chewing something. He loves all foods, including lettuce, tomato, onion and lots of fruits. It's really funny.
It's so hard to believe that the tiny little guy we brought home while we were nursing some serious broken hearts over the loss of our sweet Bo....
...has grown so much in one short year. He has mended our hearts, made us laugh, and brought great joy to our home. We will forever be grateful for the blessing you are, Rambo, and look forward to many more years with you.
This year has been much different than our first with Bo because Rams hasn't been deathly ill like our other guy was most of his life. We jumped at every symptom and Tonto almost worked himself into an ulcer before R's first vet visit but he has been completely healthy save a bout or two with allergies. To say we are grateful would be a huge understatement.
He has also brought Perkie to life, y'all. Never have we seen her so fiesty and playful. Priss loves him as well but I really don't think she has (or will) recover from losing her best friend in the world. Bo was her rock (we already had him when we brought her home) and a lot of her spunk died with him. These days she just spends her days making sure the little kids don't get in too much trouble. :-)
As I've mentioned a time or 12, Rambo loves his time at Dogtopia and we love the folks who play with him every week. We know that he will be well taken care of and that we don't have to worry about him a bit while he's at daycare. He went to school a couple of days after his big birthday and they posted this picture on Facebook the next day. There are no words, y'all, for the amount of love I have for this picture...
So, Mr. Rambo, here's to a very long life filled with tons o' fun, lots of rawhide bones and the occasional salad. Love you, sweet boy!
