Y'all. Friday night's game between our beloved Baylor Bears and those pesky Horned Frogs was epic. It was heart palpitation inducing. And, best of all, it ended with a BU victory.
But let's rewind a bit...
The girl and I got to the game last out of our fam because someone (probably named Tonto) misplaced the sausage links we bought the night before. HEB on Friday evening at 4:30pm was not pleasant. Let's just leave it at that...and, to be honest, I wasn't in the best of moods. This girl was exhausted.
And it was hot. Like, 110 degrees in the shade hot. So hot that I really didn't eat at the tailgate. That right there should tell you something. Eventually we headed up to the stadium for the game. I was nervous, y'all. In fact, we were both shaking. It was a wee bit tense on the ol' stadium bench.
And then the band and Bruiser came onto the field - with a brand new rockin' entrance - and got the party started.
The Baylor Line was led onto the field by none other than President Starr...
...and they were - in a word - RAUCOUS!
They formed a tunnel for the players...
...and it was game time...
...the atmosphere was electric...
...the players were on fire...
...and there was a lot of scoring...a lot of BAYLOR scoring!!!
This led to more shaking, lots of noise from the fans and some fun show tunes from the band.
I have honestly never seen the atmosphere this wild. And loud. And exciting.
This was the score at halftime. I almost passed out.
And then we ran into a man who had actually passed out so I grabbed Tonto and he jumped into medical person mode. Again. He'd done the same thing the night before at HEB. After getting the nice man, who suffered from lymphoma, a ride to the hospital we headed back up to our seats.
The softball team was honored for their amazing accomplishments last season...
...and then we did a lot more scoring in the third quarter. It was unbelievable. Both for us and Gary Patterson. :-)
But then the fourth quarter rolled around and we decided to take our foot off the gas and it almost didn't turn out well. But we rallied and won by two points, friends. We beat the #14 team in the nation!!!!
And it was suh-weet. And also incredibly stressful, which is why I don't have any photos of the final score, the students rushing the field, TCU players throwing punches or their fans yelling at us about how they won the Rose Bowl last year.
I guess the ol' saying is true - every rose has its thorn...
Sic 'em, Bears! :-)

Love the title! It was certainly a raucous game, and what a sweet victory. Now, they just need to remember not to get cocky from one victory and play like they want to win *every* game! Sic 'em!
We might not completely agree about all the conference realignment crap, but we do agree that it's crap, and we do agree that the Baylor victory over the hated horny toads was SUH-WEET! SIC 'EM!! ;-)
