After the big game with Texas Tech, we headed back over to Grapevine for dinner Joe's Crab Shack. This is one of the girl's absolute favorite places to eat and we never turn down a chance to eat seafood fondu. Never. Ever.
After we were done, we drove down Main Street to see it all lit up for the Christmas season. My mom, Taylor and I walked this street last year but the guys had never seen it. It's absolutely amazing as most of the store fronts are lit up like this...
Quite festive, huh?
Also, there's a giant Christmas tree in one of the park areas whose lights are synchronized to music. Such fun.
Another area has vignettes set up - a little walk through storybook, if you will.
And, of course, we hit the girl's favorite before leaving - the tunnel of lights.
There are also some winter animal statues in one of the courtyards. I'm not exactly who this child is because mine usually shies away from the camera but, well, let's just say she'd had a lot of Dr. Pepper that day :-)
After this fun detour, we headed back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep. My man was missing his puppies something fierce so we were up and gone before my parents even woke up. Our leaving early like that is something you can always count on when Tonto's in the traveling party. It's like clockwork. Remember when we left Padre Island at 3:30am? :-)
This was such a fun trip (except for the crazy storm that blew in and almost blew us all away) and this was the perfect way to wrap it up. Love the Christmas season and feel so incredibly blessed to be able to make these types of memories with my family.
Yes, I know this season is all about Jesus. We're all about that, I can assure you. But I've gotten to the point that I really don't need physical gifts. I have enough material items to last me a lifetime. But as my girl gets older - and eventually moves on with her own life - these are the moments I'll remember.
