School has officially ended, Taylor is now officially 'going into the third grade,' and summer camp activities at daycare have officially begun...it must be summer!
Even though Tay spends the summer at the same facility where she's an after-schooler, there was a packet of paperwork that had to be complete and turned in this morning so she could participate in all of the activities (they do something fun each and every day...bless their hearts and may God give them strength!). So Tay asked me repeatedly--and, by repeatedly, I mean at least four times each day--last week and over the weekend if I had the papers ready for her to take this morning. Lo and behold, guess who forgot to get them out of our bedroom this morning? Tay...good thing I had grabbed them...she was very please with Mommy this morning!!
This week she has two kickball games, Peter Piper Pizza, a movie and a picnic at a local park on the schedule...next week starts the more exciting field trips as not all of the school districts have finished up. Everyone will be there next week, though, so there's no telling what Little Miss will get into...
Another funny thing was that she was so excited about summer she woke up extra early this morning. Even thought my alarm clock had not yet gone off, our precious puppies had woken me up a few minutes early so I heard her get up...she gathered all of the puppies--all cumulative 200 pounds of them--into her bed for "cuddle time." It was hysterical but the really exciting part was that they all cooperated!!
I should have great pics of second grade to share soon...her teacher provided each of the kids with a CD of pictures on the last day of school. We dearly love Mrs. Metz and I thought it was a most appropriate gift. I only hope we are as lucky next year with teachers as we were this year...Tay generally needs a more 'seasoned' teacher who is pretty strict...she likes, I mean needs, structure :-)...
