A Day with my Teen

After a big day dedicated to celebrating Tiny's birthday, I spent the Monday before Thanksgiving spending some time with my teen. I absolutely love having a teen and an infant. It sounds crazy but they're in such different stages that it has just worked for us. It is also exhausting but that's a post for another time. :)

I spent the morning hanging with this little one who found herself still enamored with balloons the morning after her party. She absolutely LOVES them and this might have been the best present she received.

I had taken off a couple of days so I was off all week to match Taylor's school holidays. After I dropped Tiny off at school (she was ready to see her friends after missing for croup the week before), we decided to spend day one seeing Mockingjay, Part 1 at the recently renovated Waco Hippodrome in Downtown Waco.

They took a cute pic under the iconic "Waco" sign and we headed inside where we learned that the time had been changed for our movie. So we had a LOT of time to look around, have a snack (they have service at your seat in the theatre) and soak up all the newness of the historic place.

The verdict was that the setting is very cool, the food is good, the set up is not conventional but it worked and it's a good change of pace. That being said, I'm pretty sure Taylor will insist on a regular theatre next time around because she's a huge fan of reclining seats. :)

After the movie, we headed around the corner to one of the new murals downtown and the girls took a few pics even though there were cars parked in front of it. We had to get creative with the angles.

It was a fun, relaxing day. And considering there had been no school holidays since Labor Day (don't get me started), it was definitely a much needed break. And not just because I was going to spend the next day running errands like a MAD WOMAN so we could get out of town. But that's a post for another day...
