Another One Bites the Dust

A very exciting event has occurred in our home over the last week. Our kitchen has been painted!

It may not sound very exciting but seeing as the paint has been sitting in my laundry room for about six months, the fact that it's now on the walls is monumental. I really like the way it turned out and feel like the drapes and copper pieces pop more now that the backdrop isn't white.

The reason it took so long to finish the project is that I painted as far up as I could reach and then Dave finished the top. Fourteen foot ceilings are beautiful but not easy to maneuver when you're 5'2".

You can see the laundry room through the doorway. It's a light yellow now...and has been since last Labor Day if that gives you an idea of how long we've been freshening things up around the house.

And though we may not be the speediest folks around town (or in the family, for that matter), I still smile every time I walk into this room now. And it's not just because the paint fumes render me goofy.

So three cheers for getting something else checked off the list. The only room in need of paint now is our bedroom. Unfortunately, it also has terribly high ceilings. The color we chose is also dark so that always makes things exciting too. :-)

Should you think things are pretty calm and the colors are muted around our house, please know that the girl's room is psychedelic yellow. The furnishings are yellow, turquoise, orange and hot pink. How's that for calm, cool and collected?

Happy Wednesday, y'all!
